Eunice Isabella Omolara Omowumi Pratt Akuma's Obituary
An amazing life celebrated in Eunice Isabella Omolara Omowumi Pratt-Akuma born September 9, 1953 in Lagos, Nigeria by Victoria Aduke & Samuel Okanlawon Pratt. She was raised by her grandparents Eunice Jadesola & Emmanuel Odunlami in Sierra Leone where she attended Freetown Secondary School for Girls and found friends she remained in contact with until her death. Eunice studied to become a Nurse in Nigeria and later attended Benin City, Edo State St. Philomena School of Midwifery. Her thirst for knowledge continued until her death as she still attended classes at Oklahoma State University. She was dedicated to her work colleagues and many close friends at Southern Hills Country Club, where she assisted almost every department for over 29 years. Eunice lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was married to Lovelace Ejim Akuma. Eunice was always eager to learn about new cultures and religions something she passed on to her children and believed fully that everything was by God’s grace. She loved everyone she met, her work family, her friends in class, her neighbors, and her family dearly. Eunice passed her U.S. Citizenship test, earned her house by working with Habitat for Humanity, a group of people she cherished spending time with, took countless continuing education classes, and achieved her lifelong goal of visiting her family in Nigeria. Eunice is survived by her mother Victoria Aduke Pratt, her daughter, Eugenia Ayodele and husband Olugbenga Olutunji Olude and their daughters Iteoluwakishi Elizabeth, Daphne Anuoluwakitan Nuoluakitan, and Lyla Christine Oluwasemilore, her son Lovelace Ogudu Omotayo Akuma and wife Jenna, daughter Christine Aduke Ogisi Akuma, son Nathaniel Eugene Omowumi Uduka Akuma and wife Lawana and their daughter Hailee Osborne, estranged husband Lovelace Ejim Akuma, and countless friends and family. She loved gardening, traveling, riding trains, attending parties, dancing, and laughing with her loved ones. Eunice might have been small but she was full of life, love, passion, bravery, and courage. She was incredibly smart, funny, giving, and consistent with a brilliantly sarcastic sense of humor. Her laugh will forever echo in our hearts. Memorial services will be held on April 6th, 2015 at 10:00am at 624 Kitchen & Catering. Donations may be made in Eunice’s honor to Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, or Catholic Charities.
