I was about 6 or 7 years old all the family was at the farm in new hope the house was Jess and Bea’s the farm had no electricity no running water no gas had a out house and a well ....I was sitting on the front porch with my four aunts it was so hot that day....There he was Jess was carrying a long stick with the biggest black snake hanging over the stick...Well we all knew what he was up to I never got up and run so fast in my life and I could move fast but Fay was way ahead of us we thought we would be safe in the house we were all trying to get in the screen door at one time some how Fay was ahead at the time, but some how we were faster than she was...she ended up at the end of the line and I was first in the door and Jess was right behind us...everyone was screaming but, Fay was the loudest of all of us...I went and hide, the aunts went the other way behind each other I could still hear the screaming right out the back door...I looked out the window the Aunts was way down the field and Fay was finally ahead of the pack still screaming Jess was laughing in the back yard I didn’t see the snake on his stick I guess he got rid of it....about an hour later I saw the girls back....Jess was always doing something....we all had a good laugh over that but we all knew to run also....I miss those days what great memories and a lot more memories I have. I feel so blessed and thank God for my wonderful family. To my Aunt Fay Thanks for the memories Love you always your niece Linda Hammer Roeber....
