I remember Mrs. Wood (Mae) quite fondly from my childhood. She and her family lived next door to my family in Raleigh (Memphis) TN and became best friends with my parents. Over the years, I spent a lot of time with them, the boys, and also one fun summer in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Wood was always so sweet and kind to my brother, Doug, and I. I have often thought of them over the years and always wished the best for Stewart and Linden. I take solace in the thought that Mae and Trent are now reunited in our heavenly home.

It was my pleasure to have known Ms Mae. I only regret not having the opportunity to have met her years earlier. Several years back Stewart and I made a “pop in” visit during one of our Saturday morning motorcycle rides. She fell in love with my candy apple red Harley Fatboy and insisted on Trent taking her picture on it. I’ve got that picture and wouldn’t take a $million for it.
A true “Southern Belle” who reminds us of an old southern saying, “A real Southern Lady always knows when it’s time to leave”. Rest in Peace sweet lady.——Dennis Dorsey
