Floyd Harold Leighty Sr's Obituary
Floyd H. Leighty, Sr., 97, of Tulsa, passed away from Covid 19 on December 2, 2020, one day before his 98th birthday. He was born December 3, 1922, in Wallace, South Dakota to Archie Melvin and Freda Cassel Leighty. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1955. Floyd retired in 1985 from the Tulsa Fire Department as an Assistant Fire Chief after 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 68 yrs, Mary Gladys; grandson Christopher, brother Fred and sister Louise and Lois. Floyd is survived by his son, Floyd, Jr., of the home, daughter Barbara McConnell of Zeeland, MI, brother Cecil Robert (E. Lorraine) of Moore, OK, and sister Lorelei Miller (Fred) of Nowata, OK; granddaughters Lory and Jennifer, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Floyd’s life will follow at a later date. Interment will be at Floral Haven Cemetery, Masonic section.
