A very kind and sweet man. Always friendly and interested in you and your life. It was a pleasure to have known him and Wanda too. I know he will be missed very much by his loved ones, family and friends.Steve Walker
I remember all the fun times we shared at family reunions. We started out meeting at a little roadside rest area by McPherson, KS. We camped out and grilled over an open fire.We sat on picnic- table benches under a small open shelter. One year,.B.J. organized a horse- shoe tossing tournament, complete with trophies for the winners.A private resort located by a lake in Southern Kansas provided a long swinging rope for swimmers to launch themselves out into the lake. There was a large enclosed building with running water. That was quite an upgrade! At the Salt Plain area, located in Northern Oklahoma, we carefully exposed clusters of unique salt crystals from the sand. We stayed under a large open shelter. There were schools of large Gar fish easily spotted by a dam.The fresh-water fish were stressed by the salt.Table Rock Lake, located on the Arkansas-Missouri line, furnished water sports for some of us. Others took off for Silver Dollar City for a day of adventure. We hosted one of the reunions at our cabin on Sherman Lake.near Loup City, NE. Our fellow cabin owners kept walking by to see what the joyous celebration was all about.Aunt Sue and Uncle Raymond also hosted one of the family reunions at their home on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. Uncle Raymond prepared a masterful barbeque. I played scrabble with cousins and aunts. Some of us played cards. Aunt Sue also organized a wonderful reunion in a Texas Park. Our visits to Oklahoma, as well as your many visits to Nebraska, were all memorable. Your most recent visit was exceptional. We went to the car show and visited The House of Yesterday. Our kids all gathered and we all shared memories and family stories You told us about a time when, as a teenager you visited us and while messing around with a flyswatter, it ended up getting wet in the kitchen sink. You kept swinging the swatter, not noticing the red dye splatters all over the newly wall- papered ceiling until you noticed Edith (your sister–my mom) standing in the doorway and looking very unhappy.Regardless where or when our family gather, there is a common thread…LOVE. Memories of Uncle Leon will forever be in my heart and always be cherished. Aunt Wanda, your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are in our thoughts and prayers.. Love, Judy and Doug
Wanda, Lonnie and Tracy and families, I want to extend to my families deepest sympathy for the loss of your Husband and Father. Leon was always Skips Favourite – of course he was named after him. You will be going through a lot of firsts in the up coming months. Hold tight to all the wonderful memories you have had with such a wonderful dear man. God does not give you more than you can handle and he will be at your side through this trying time. All our love, Suzie, Kellie and Steve Griffin and family
