Frank Leon Rombach Sr.'s Obituary
Frank Leon Rombach, Sr. was born on June 8, 1936 in Haskell, Oklahoma and died on March 20, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of nine to Frank & Marie Rombach. Leon graduated from Haskell High School in 1955, where he was a basketball player for the Haskell Haymakers. Leon married his seventh grade sweetheart, Wanda Louise Hampton on June 4, 1955. Leon worked for forty years for John Zink Company in Tulsa and Skiatook as welder, supervisor and Quality Control. His job took him places like Singapore and Thailand. He worked with his son Lon to obtain his Eagle Scout award and with Tracey in dance and sports. When not working he watched his favorite team Oklahoma Sooners along with swimming and other sports. The family travelled every summer; Leon was in every state except North Dakota. One of his last trips was their 60th Anniversary cruise with Joy and David Brunson’s family and Tracey. Leon is survived by his wife Wanda of Broken Arrow, son Frank Leon “Lon” Rombach, Jr. of Broken Arrow. His daughter Tracey Lei Baca and husband Bobby of Albuquerque, New Mexico. His two granddaughters Jewelie Marie Rombach Smith and husband Brian of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Joy Lynn Rombach Brunson and husband David of Broken Arrow. Five great-grandkids Jasai, Jeuel and Jylan Brunson and Lillie and Lukas Smith. Sister Margaret Rombach and Helen O’Neal of Haskell and Hope McCollum of Bixby along with other sister-in-law and brothers-in-law with numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by Frank and Marie Rombach; sisters Edith Griffin, Frances Groover, Sue Foutch Bowker, June Walker and one brother, B.J. Rombach. Leon was a great Christian man that cared about people, especially Wanda and would help others in need, even animals. Leon needs to be remembered as a gentle, family-oriented, loving spirit that never knew a stranger. Even in death he was a true gentlemen. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:30PM at the Pavilion at Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens; 6500 S 129th E Ave; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
