Gary Newell, a beloved husband, father, dedicated worker, and cherished friend, passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 76. His loss is mourned deeply by his wife, Sandra “Sam” (Thornton) Newell, his daughters: Angie Newell, Becky Robertson and her husband Darren, other family, friends, and the countless lives he touched during his remarkable journey.
Born on May 31, 1947, Gary grew up in a world marked by change and opportunity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Gwen Mae (Lewis) Newell, and his siblings: Linda Newell and Terry Newell. Throughout his life, he displayed an unwavering commitment to his work, leaving an indelible mark on the concrete industry. For over four decades, he lent his expertise and dedication to renowned companies such as Tulsa Concrete, Rainbow, A & M, Dolese, and most recently, Ram Concrete Pumping. His tireless efforts, skills, and experience contributed greatly to the growth and success of these organizations.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gary was known for his warm and welcoming nature. He possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with others effortlessly. He never met a stranger, always going out of his way to make people feel comfortable and valued. His genuine kindness and willingness to help others endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. Gary was the epitome of generosity, always ready to give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
With a brilliant mind and an insatiable curiosity, Gary was a constant learner. He possessed a wealth of knowledge that he willingly shared with others, earning him the reputation of being an incredibly intelligent man. His willingness to impart wisdom and offer guidance made him an invaluable mentor to many. Gary was always ready to lend a hand or provide a thoughtful solution to any problem, showcasing his remarkable intellect and problem-solving abilities.
Outside of work, Gary found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, indulging in numerous guided trips with both clients and loved ones. These adventures not only brought him closer to nature but also provided opportunities for him to create cherished memories with those he held dear. Gary believed in the importance of spending quality time with family, and he did so with boundless love and devotion.
Above all else, Gary was a devoted husband. He married his beloved wife, Sandra Thornton, on October 4, 1969, and their union was a shining example of love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. Sandra was his rock, and their bond served as an inspiration to all who witnessed their deep affection for one another.
Gary Newell's legacy extends beyond his professional achievements and personal relationships. His unwavering love, kindness, and wisdom touched the lives of countless individuals. He leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but the memories of his remarkable life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The visitation for Gary Newell will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose Chapel in Floral Haven Funeral Home. Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories of a life well-lived. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 9, 2023, honoring Gary's incredible journey and celebrating the profound impact he had on those around him.
In this time of loss, we remember Gary's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. While he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit and the memories he created will forever remain in our hearts.
