George Edgar Upky's Obituary
"All pain of loss comes from the blessing of love."
George Upky, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 65.
George will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit. He was a friend to everyone he met—always open, welcoming, and willing to lend a hand. He lived his life with quiet strength and a deep sense of care for others.
Family was the center of George’s world. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to eight children, whom he loved equally and wholeheartedly. To him, there was no distinction—each child was simply his. He carried that same love into his role as a grandfather to nineteen grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
George found great joy in time spent together. Whether it was large gatherings filled with family and friends or quieter moments, he treasured being surrounded by the people he loved. Much of his happiest time was spent with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in all of them.
He also loved to travel and explore. Family vacations often took him to the ocean shores of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, places that brought him peace and happiness. He enjoyed camping and the beauty of the Colorado mountains, and from time to time, he and his wife would take cruises together, enjoying those special moments side by side.
George’s life was defined by love—freely given, deeply felt, and shared with everyone around him. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy lives on in the family he adored and the many lives he touched.
A funeral service and reception will be held on May 14, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
