Aunt Hallie…so many memories… her beautiful smile, her kind words, her generous heart… all of these made her who she was. But as a little girl, I remember her candy dish! It was always full of sweet treats as was her freezer-ice cream sandwiches, fudge pops, just about any kind of cold treat a child could want; and to a child that's important stuff! When we would go and visit, mom would always tell us kids (there were four of us), "Now when we get there, don't say you're hungry!" But we always did and Aunt Hallie would always say to mom, "Well, can't they just have a little something?" We pretty much got whatever we wanted at Aunt Hallie's house. And oh my goodness! How she could sew! I was a well dressed kid because of her love of sewing and her love for me. I remember a couple of years ago a conversation she and I had about family. We reminisced about family dinners and holiday celebrations. But I'll always remember how the conversation ended as we both expressed how blessed we felt that our family is still so close, even though the miles had separated us, and that we're a family that loves unconditionally. Thank you, Aunt Hallie, for helping to shape my life; I am partly who I am today because of who you were to me. Aunt Hallie, I will forever miss the way you held my hand tightly and say, "I sure do love you; you're just like my own." I am so glad this isn't good-bye; it's just see-you-later. And that's because of His unconditional love. First Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by Godâ??s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
