Harold "Wayne" Sams' Obituary
Harold Wayne Sams went to be with our Lord on September 23, 2016. He was born April 12, 1930 in Parsons Kansas. He was the son of Adley Grover Sams and Flora Elizebeth Sams. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elsie Kaiser and Jean Long . He is survived by his wife Beverly of 67 years, 2 sons Gary Sams of Spring, Tx and Larry Sams of Tulsa, 3 grandaughters Aleacia Murray, Phoenix Arizona, Susan Dellager of Tulsa and Paula Hicks of Kansas City Missouri. . He has 4 great grandchildren, Ashley Murray, Meridith Dellinger and Katie and Allison Hicks. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and a very special friend Bill Strong. Wayne worked for American Airlines for 40 years and retired as a Systems Analyst. He was a Scout Leader for 9 years from Webelos to Explorers. He was a member of Sheridan Avenue United Methodist Church since 1964 and served in many roles in the church. He was a devoted husband and family man. Family was most important to Wayne, not only was he a father to his two sons but also to his little sister Jean when his parents were not longer able to care for her. His major hobby was woodworking and wood crafting. He made many beautiful pieces that some of us are lucky enough to have in our homes. Services will be at Floral Haven on Wednesday, September 28th at 10am. Graveside following the service and a meal will be served immediately following. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Clarehouse or the charity of your choice.
