Although I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Hal for many years, it was clear to me how deeply he loved his wife, daughters and granddaughters. The care, devotion, and warmth he showed them were truly inspiring. I’ll always remember how he joked about being surrounded by females, but it was clear he wouldn’t have had it any other way. My thoughts and heart are with family during this time, and I will always carry with me the kindness he extended to me. He will be remembered with great affection and respect.
Hal and Sharon were at almost every soccer game that I can remember. My daughter played on the same team as Sydney. Hal and Sharon had announced at the beginning of the girls soccer game they were paying any girl who scored $5 per goal. My daughter scored 2 goals during the game. She tried to get to the car quickly after the game because she didn’t want to take any money from them. They would have none of it and made sure they kept their promise. Hal and Sharon followed us to our car so they could pay my daughter for her goals she scored. Simple actions that are still so memorable over 10 years later. Hearts of gold! Hal will surely be missed!!
