Henry was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 12, 1938 to Henry E. and Marie Willems Neufeld. He was the oldest of four children and the only boy. He had a happy childhood adventuring with his favorite dog Puppy.
He graduated from Buhler High School in 1956, then enlisted in the army in 1961. He served 2 years in the army as an Infantry Trainer and Chaplain’s Assistant stationed mainly in Thailand. After active duty, Henry put himself through Hutchinson Junior College and Fort Hayes University. While living in a trailer park in Arkansas, Henry met Harriet Ann Hill from Shreveport, Louisiana. The two were married on April 13, 1968, made Tulsa their home in 1977, and have been inseparable for 56 years.
Henry has used his talent as an engineer in research and development for Shakespeare, Beard-Poulan, Zebco and Purolator Products. He and Harriet even ventured out making their own fishing reel gears when they started their company H and H Products. He has numerous patents for the fishing industry. In his free time, Hank enjoyed working with his hands in various capacities including wood working and metal working. He bought a circa 1917 barn and surrounding land which became his favorite place for building, collecting and tinkering.
