Howard Lee Johnson's Obituary
On Sunday, November 13th, 2022 Howard Lee Johnson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather relocated one last time into his Heavenly home. He was 90 years and 51 weeks old. Born in Webb City, Missouri on November 26th, 1931 to Bert and Faye Johnson. Preceded in death by his six brothers; Bert,James, Bill, Melvin, Eddie, Karl and three sisters Jean, Imogene, and Juanita and Sons-in-law Steve Allen and Harold Phillips. He is the last surviving member among his 9 siblings. In 1952 he married his hometown sweetheart; Dorothy Irene Patterson. He then entered the Air Force and was stationed in Korea during the war. After completing his military service Howard and Dorothy began their family of five children in Webb City, Mo. He began a career with a large wholesale company called Mama's cookies. That career took his family from Webb City, Mo to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Chicago, Illinois and back to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he lived the last 50 plus years of his life with his enlarging family. During all of those years they were devoted to a local church in every location. Webb City First Christian Church, Cincinnati Avenue Christian Church, Sandusky Avenue Christian Church and Tinley Park Christian Church, often serving as elder or deacon.
He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, son Steve Johnson and wife Cathy of Sand Springs, Ok, daughter Connie Allen of Ankeny, lowa, daughter Cindy Phillips of Jenks, Ok, daughter Amy Underwood and husband Marshall of Sapulpa, Ok, daughter Lori Amos and husband Al of Broken Arrow. Ok, and 14 grandchildren + 15 great grandchildren.
He loved family, music, and humor, he enjoyed ancestry, sewing (renaissance man) and morning breakfasts with their McDonald's gang. For the last three years Howard and Dorothy resided at Burgundy Place Assisted Living. They were very loved there and all who knew them spoke of the love they showed for each other and the fact that Howard was hilarious.
For the last two months they resided at Glenwood Nursing home where it took no time at all for staff there to share the same observation; several staff commented that they were their favorite residents.
On June 7, 2022 Howard and Dorothy celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Osage Hills Christian Church, 4500 W Edison St, Tulsa, OK 74127 with Pastor Hershel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens
