Whether she was cooking for loved ones, sewing, making a new quilt, traveling to a new place, or attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, Irene made her family her number one priority. Irene loved the outdoors; she began every morning with her cup of coffee outside on the porch with her loving husband beside her. Together they would greet the day, listen to the symphony of songbirds, and admire the gorgeous garden which was planted for her by her devoted spouse.
She will forever be remembered for her treasure of quilts. Irene poured her heart into each stitch and customized the quilt to fit each person. Irene grew in her knowledge and love for quilting. Her quilts were entered into the Tulsa State Fair where she received many awards and honors for her skills. She felt so proud that someone offered her a large sum of money for one of her quilts, but she refused to sell it.
