Jack Edward Kiper's Obituary
Jack Edward Kiper, 91, passed away on August 4, 2024 in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Tulsa Will Rogers High School and The University of Tulsa. He was a U.S. Marine and very proud of his service in the Korean War.
Jack was a coach and teacher at Berryhill, Union, Mason, and Hale High Schools. Coaching was his passion, and he was especially proud of the state-champion Hale Football Rangers of 1979 and the Mason Patriots state track champions of 1977.
Coach Kiper loved his players and kept in touch over the years. One of his favorite activities was the monthly breakfast with the guys from his Berryhill teams.
After retirement, Jack wrote the book, The Sixty Year Hurricane about the University of Tulsa football teams he had followed since he was a child. His perspective was entertaining and unique.
Jack was also a huge fan of OU Sports, especially football. He never missed a game.
More than anything, he loved his family. He always looked forward to his birthday parties with them where he would share his stories and give the best speeches.
Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Rose Kiper. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Kiper, children, Keith Kiper, Kaye Hansen, Kelly Schiavo, Christa and husband Terrell Wallace, and Robert and wife Tiffanie Tallman, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was very much loved and will be missed by them all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
