A few years ago I saw Jackie for the first time in many years. We were cousins. However, though it had been many, many years since I had seen him, the years melted away once we began to speak. We talked and talked and could have talked all night. We laughted as we spoke of the family times and caught up on how the families were doing now. Oh, he was so proud of the new baby in the family; grandpa was a role he embrased proudly. And that day we laughed and laughed and laughed, with gusto. We spoke of a visit with him and Edith in the 1960s as if it were yesterday.Jackie had a way of reminding us of who we were and who we are. He made us feel happy about ourselves. For family members, he left us feeling proud to be a member of the family HE was a member of; after all if we were kin to such a great man, we had to be from good "stock." I am proud to be his cousin and have him lift me up without even knowing it. To be trite: To know him is to love him.Jackie, you will be missed, admired and best of all emulated. Paulette Gage Jackie if you are looking down on us know we thank you and will miss you!
I cut Jack's hair for 20 years and will miss seeing him every month. I told him once that he reminded me of my Uncle Ralph and that's how I always remembered what side he parted his hair. Ralph and right started with an R. He always laughed about that. My deepest sympathy to Edith and family.
I worked with Jack at Trucks for You – he always had a smile and a great story. Prayers to his family.Carla Holland

The last time I saw Jackie was at Dad's funeral, I really enjoyed that visit.. In my teens I looked after Jackie and Nelda Jean a lot when Arvita had her restaurant in Eufaula. They were both good kids. He never lost that Jackie smile!
Edith and family. Danny and I send our condolences. Jackie was a "one of a kind "very special person! He is surely going to be missed! We love you and will be praying for the family. Love Danny and Carrie Williams
So long to a dear cousin who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Our hearts go out to his beloved wife Edith and family at this time of deep sorrow. We hope they can rest a bit easier knowing Jack is in a better place where he knows no pain and suffering. He is joining other loved ones who preceded him and he knows each of his loved ones will join him at a later time. Our love and deepest sympathy,Leeman & Emmi Pierce
