Jackson Earl Lay's Obituary
Jackson, Earl Lay, son, brother, father,grandfather, great-grandfather and patriarch of our great big wonderful family. Born February 3, 1923 in Plumerville, Arkansas, Earl entered heavens gates on October 4, 2011. Earl was a WWII Veteran serving with the 536th Amphibian Tractor Battalion in the Pacific. Earl worked for McDonnell Douglas for 30 years. After retiring from Douglas he and Bess went into the travel business. Safari Travel took trips all over the United States and Canada. Earl officially retired from Safari Travel this month. Earl is survived by the love of his life Bess Marie, daughter Phyllis Kinison, son Ron Lay and daughter-in-law Teresa, Grandchildren Traci Dee Smith, Amber (Lay) Salyers (Lance) and Randy Lay (Ramie). Great-Grandchildren Ella Salyers and Ethan Salyers. Also surviving are Earl’s brother Herbert Doyle “HD” Lay, sister-in-law Marillyn, sisters Mary May, Gwen Mattson, sister-in-law Jessie Lay, many, many wonderful nieces and nephews and last but not least his favorite cousin buddy John Q. A celebration of Earls life will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011, 10:00 a..m., at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK. Visitation will be held Sunday October 9th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.. Family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00p.m..
