James Michael Hope Sr.'s Obituary
James Michael “Jimmy” Hope Sr., 72, R.F.I. Investigator, passed away February 18, 2015 in Mannford, OK. He was born July 26, 1943 in Tulsa, OK to Andrew Hoyet and Mary Pauline (Barnes) Hope. He has one brother Ronald Gene Hope. James married Janice Kay Setchell on June 1, 1962, in Vinita, Ok. He was a graduate of Will Rogers High School class of 1961. After graduation Jim attended and graduated Okmulgee State Tech in the field of Industrial Electronics. Jim was an Eagle Scout, and later on a Scout Master. Jim and Janice received many Foster Parent Awards throughout the 30 plus years of Foster Parenting. He was employed by PSO/AEP from 1964 till his retirement in 2008. He was an RFI investigator. First in his field in the Oklahoma area. He grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma and lived there until 1974 when he moved the family to the Mannford Ok area. Jim enjoyed Boy Scouts growing up and later taking his children camping on the weekends. He was very involved in the children’s growing up activities. He loved working on Volkswagens and other cars. He enjoyed watching racing and at one point purchased a couple of race cars that he would race on the weekends… Until he rolled one on a corner of the track.. When asked what his greatest thrill was… he said it was the first time he took his car around the track. Jim was also a member of the Keystone Fire Department. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pauline Barnes Hope and father, Andrew Hoyet Hope. Jim is survived by his wife Janice Kay Setchell Hope, Mannford , Ok.; 7 children, Jamie Michelle McBroom and her Spouse Tim McBroom, Mannford, Ok., James Michael Hope Jr., Mannford, Ok., Justin Daniel Hope and his wife Maggie Hope , Mannford , Ok, Joshua Robert Hope and his wife Laura Hope, Tulsa , Ok, Jonathan Shawn Hope, Tulsa, Ok, Jeremy Jacob Hope, Mannford, Ok, Jennifer Rendi Hope, Sulphur, Ok; grandchildren, Michael-Allen Andrew McBroom, Macie Michelle McBroom, Jordan McKenzie McBroom, Steven Patrick Hope, Andrew Hoyet Hope, Mary Elizabeth Hope, Nicolas Dean Lopez-Alspach, Elizabeth Suzanne Lopez-Alspach, Alexander James Hope: 2 great grandchildren, Audrey Nicole McBroom, Ashley Hope McBroom.Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday February 22nd, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 23rd, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with the committal service to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens,In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Association www.americancancerfund.org
