Janice Ann Colvin's Obituary
Janice Ann Colvin (Jan), 82, of Tulsa, passed away November 18, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1939 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to David Francis Spayd and Adeline Coleman (Spayd). She was an active member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church and a longtime member of UMW, United Methodist Women’s Group. She was a homemaker, but also worked part-time as a seamstress for many years. From simple alterations and custom Halloween costumes to gorgeous wedding dresses, she was a go-to person for all sewing needs. She sang in her church choir for years and volunteered to help with countless activities at her church. She enjoyed crafting and even volunteered monthly to host a craft night at a local assisted living facility. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and working in her rock garden. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Francis Spayd and Adeline A. Coleman and her brother Merlin Spayd. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Russell Colvin; daughters Melissa Parchman of Jenks, Oklahoma and Stephanie Chouinard of Collinsville, Oklahoma; sons Tony Colvin of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kelly Colvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In celebration of Jan’s life, we will have graveside services at Floral Haven Cemetery in the Garden of St. Paul on Tuesday, November 23rd at 2 PM.
