Janice Corine Rader's Obituary
Janice Corine Halcomb Rader was born to Harrel B. and Clemmie Halcomb on May 5, 1936 in Natura, OK. Her daddy told her she brought good luck for the rains came with her birth on their drought-stricken, share-cropped land. She was the 9th of 10 children, preceded in death by Clifford, Opal, Aline, Faye, Lloyd, Nadine, George, Harold, and Donna. She was a proud graduate of Preston High School where she became a forever Pirate. Her professional banking career included stints at National Bank of Tulsa, Boulder Bank and Bank of Oklahoma. She is survived by James R. Rader and was introduced via her sister Faye, and his brother Clarence. They were married April 21, 1956 and celebrated 60 years together. Jim and Janice were blessed with two children: David, married to Janet and Derek, married to Pam; 7 grandchildren: Daniel married to Deidra, Katy Thacker married to David, Jordan married to Emily, Julie, Kendal McMahon married to Michael, Jacob married to Jessica, and Brandon; 5 great-grandchildren: J.D., Jett, Jax, Elliott, and Anna Belle. Janice was a positive and godly influence on the many she touched, be it at work, in her 59 years as Sunday School teacher, as leader of Riverview Rockers, hosting the many friends of her children and grandchildren, in the stands of the thousands of ballgames they attended or serving as communications central within their extended family. Janice was called home on September 23rd after a two-year battle with cancer. She was confident in the promise of heaven as a follower of Jesus, and assuredly rejoices there with her many family members and friends who preceded her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at IMB.org. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
