We attended summer church camp together. She remembered that I gave her a candy bar called “Forever Yours.” We went our separate ways in life, but we always shared pleasant memories.
Janice was my first girl friend when we were just in elementary school. I remember her parents, Cy and Lec, as we called them. Her parents were dear friends of my parents when we lived in Haskell. We remained friends throughout our lives, and occasionally spoke on the phone. She was an exceptional person, and I always had the highest regard for her. Although we had not seen each other in many years, we maintained our high regards and respectful feelings toward each other. I was saddened to learn of her passing. Our acquaintance began when we were in the fifth grade and lasted for a lifetime. I knew all of her siblings, and she came from an outstanding family. My heart goes out to her family.
