Janice Spink's Obituary
Janice Gail Spink, passed away on April 7, 2025, at the age of 87. It was said that “Mom went to be with Papa and Jesus at 11:03 p.m. At 11:01 this wave of peace came over her and two minutes later, she was dancing on streets of gold! It was so peaceful!”
Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow from 5 - 7p.m on Thursday, April 10th. The funeral service will be held at Broken Arrow Church of Christ on Friday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m. Tim Pyles of the Broken Arrow Church of Christ is officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at the Floral Haven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow.
Jan was born in Muskogee on November 5, 1937. She graduated from Haskell High School and from there, graduated from secretarial school.
Jan was married to Don Spink on Feb 19 they were married for over 50 years before Don’s passing.
Jan enjoyed working as an account specialist for Family Medicine in Broken Arrow. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was an artful hostess. One year, she even hired THE REAL SANTA CLAUS to land on her roof and surprise all of our families’ children with special gifts. Jan loved playing games of any kind, especially Bridge; and she hosted many gatherings in her home for that purpose. She was also an active member of Broken Arrow Church of Christ.
Jan is survived by her children, Sherry Milford of Broken Arrow, OK, Scott Spink of Dallas, TX, Greg Spink and wife, Kim, of Joplin, MO, and Joel Spink of Tulsa, OK; nieces Susan Weaver of Broken Arrow, OK, Paula and husband Levi Jones of Shawnee, OK, Brenda and husband, Craig Nolan of Dallas, TX, Robin and husband Bob Lee of Frederick, OK and Kendra and husband Bill Rae of Otisville, MI; and nephews Paul and wife, Emily Stiles of Broken Arrow, OK, and Daniel and wife Nana Thomas of Bonnie Doon, CA. Jan was also survived by grandchildren Kyrra Milford of Claremore, OK, Levi Milford and his wife Laura of Tulsa, OK, Ranie Rosalee and her husband Ryan of Tulsa, OK, Kolby Milford of Tulsa,OK, Kambrie Stevens and her husband Schuyler of Owasso, OK, Raevyn Ward of Broken Arrow, OK, Courtney Spink of Waco, TX, Stacy Spink of Waco, TX, Austin and wife, Kaylee Spink of Webb City, MO, along with 10 great grandchildren.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Cyrus Carl and Elector Dovie Willis of Haskell, OK; husband, Don Spink of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters, Fran Stiles of Muskogee, OK, and Jo Dipboye of Tulsa, OK; brother, Bryce Willis of Haskell, OK; and nephew, Barry Thomas of Stevens Point WI.
Jan’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her for the way her life was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation to come and pay respects to Jan will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 5PM - 7PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Independent florists are kindly asked to deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 10th, to ensure proper display for Jan's visitation. Jan's celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 11th at 2:30PM at Broken Arrow Church of Christ with Pastor Tim Pyles officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
