Jeffrey McCabe's Obituary
Jeffrey Scott McCabe, 58, of Tulsa, OKlahoma, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his residence. He was born Oct. 11, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas to Billie Joe and Frances Lucille West McCabe.
Jeff spent the last nineteen years working for IBM as a System Service Representative, most recently in Tulsa, serving as the primary SSR in the Tulsa area. Jeff’s willingness to travel to locations where he was needed most was exemplified by his frequent temporary assignments over the last year assisting with major projects in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Jeff will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his big heart, his love of road trips and quirky tourist attractions, and his witty social media commentary on human behavior, pop culture, sports, and politics. He loved his cat, his friends, and his nieces and nephew, though if they beat him at cards he accused them of cheating. He enjoyed camping, motorcycling, shooting, and reading. His friends knew him as a walking encyclopedia and a Wichita State University fan who loved to watch the Shockers from the nearest sports bar no matter what city he was working in.
Jeff is survived by his two siblings, Nancy McCabe of Bradford, Pennsylvania and Bob McCabe of Wichita, Kansas; three nieces and a nephew, Sidney and Treven McCabe of Wichita, Kansas, Megan McCabe of Reno, Nevada, and Sophie McCabe of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
