Jerry Houston Emerson, DDS's Obituary
Dr. Jerry Houston Emerson, age 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 13, 1943, Jerry grew up in Skiatook, Oklahoma. A naturally gifted athlete, he excelled in sports during high school, playing football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to pursue his passion for healthcare, graduating from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center: College of Dentistry. Dr. Emerson dedicated his life to serving his community, practicing dentistry in Collinsville, Oklahoma, where he was known by his patients and peers for his gentle care and dedication. Outside of his practice, Jerry was an avid tennis player and deeply loved dancing. It was on the dance floor that he met the love of his life and wife, Sondra Emerson, with whom he shared 26 beautiful years of marriage.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sondra Emerson; his stepchildren, Clint Duffy, Chancey Duffy, Adam Duffy, and Carol Hacker; his sister, Judith Emerson; his 9 grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Amos Emerson; his sister, Sue Ann Shafer; and his parents, Chester Emerson and Mary Elois Houston Emerson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18th, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home - Rose Chapel
Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens - Garden of Good Shepherd
