Jerry was my favorite cousin. Before we left Oklahoma, I would ride the school bus to his house, and he would play games with me. (like having a very long string with a can on each end that was our telephone) I also liked to spend the night there because we would have boxed cereal for breakfast. I would also help carry buckets of water from Grandpa's well back to their house. (I think it was a quarter to a half mile from the old Lawrence house to Jerry's parents' house.) When we came to California, we lived in Gustine. After several years, Jerry, Bill, Uncle Orlen and Aunt Jewel moved there for a while. (Bob & Cuba were already there.) I think Jerry might have been a senior, and I'm sure he was embarased to have this girl cousin trailing around town with him. I guess I idolized him.
I wish that I could have spent more time with all of you. I will think of you often and will miss my favorite cousin forever. My love goes out to you.
