Jimmy Brown's Obituary
Jimmy P. Brown, 34, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on May 3, 2016.Jimmy was born on October 12, 1981 in Tulsa to JR and Paula (Meyer) Brown. He graduated from Bixby High School in the Class of 2000. He loved hockey and played in grade school and four years on the Union High School hockey team. He attended Oklahoma State University and Rogers State University.Due to his love of books and poetry, he was well versed in any topic and that love led him to his excellence in creative writing. Jimmy had mastered the art of photography. He loved to take his photographic skills to foreign countries and the streets of LA. He did photo shoots in Bali, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Viet Nam and all across Europe. He had been employed by the Cambodia Newspaper while there. One of his photos was picked up by the Associated Press and printed in the New York Times.Jimmy was a free lance photographer for the Greater Tulsa Reporter (GTR) and the Tulsa World. He attended the Tam-Bao Buddhist Temple. Jimmy had a great love for his family and adored his mother and was his father’s strength after her death in 1999.Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Brown, maternal grandfather Paul (Buster) Meyer, and paternal grandparents Cecil and Tommie Brown.He is survived by his father JR Brown, maternal grandmother Mary Jane Meyer, aunts: Peggy Meyer, Pat (Jim) Sharp, Bobbye (LB) Amos, and uncle: William (Sharon) Brown.Graveside services were held 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Memorial donations in Jimmy Brown’s honor and name can be made in care of the Bank of Oklahoma, 2021 S.
