Joan Dale Eaton's Obituary
Joan Eaton, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on January 18, 1937, Joan's life was filled with a passion for music, a deep love for her family, and a warmth that touched the hearts of everyone she met.
From the age of five, Joan's voice was a constant presence, filling the air with joy, and she never stopped singing. Music was more than just a hobby—it was her life's calling. Joan spent many years teaching piano and voice lessons from her home, sharing her gift with others until just a decade ago. For Joan, making music was never work; it was an expression of her soul, and she poured her heart into every note. She could always be found thinking about what could come next, constantly striving to share the beauty of music with the world.
Joan was known for her radiant personality and outgoing nature. She never met a stranger, and her infectious smile and kind, loving character drew people to her wherever she went. Her love for Jesus Christ was unwavering, and it was this love that reflected in the way she cared for others. Joan was an old soul, and her family will forever cherish the way she always saw the best in people, especially her children. To her, they could do no wrong, and she never judged them, offering endless love and support.
Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she especially adored her grandchildren. Joan found great joy in spending time with them, whether it was playing with her granddaughters’ long, beautiful hair or simply being present and involved in their lives. She was the epitome of an incredible host, always ensuring that anyone who entered her home felt welcome and loved. Her sparkling sense of style, highlighted by her love for shoes, purple, and all things that glittered, was a reflection of her vibrant and lively spirit.
Joan’s family and friends will forever hold on to the memories of her, including the long, heartfelt conversations she shared with her daughter Angie, often lost in hours of stories and laughter. Joan’s bond with her family was profound, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Ritchey, her second chance at love, Rudy Buckendorf, and her parents, Bruce and Margaret Eaton. Joan is survived by her Daughter , Angie Braddock, her Granddaughter's Kristen Serafine and Jessica Nevens here today from Florida. Her son Paul Ritchey and Granddaughter Amy And Grandson Anthony from West Virginia. And her Brother, Bruce Eaton Jr. here today.
Joan's legacy will live on in the love she gave, the music she created, and the lives she touched. Her family will hold dear to her promise that, when she joins the angels, she will continue to sing for them.
Joan will be forever missed, but her light will shine on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
