Dr. John Robert “Rob” Gray, Jr., 68, of Tulsa, Okla., passed away on July 30, 2021. He was born April 12, 1953, in Muskogee, Okla., to John and Elaine Gray. He married the love of his life, Kathy Nobles Gray, in August of 1976. R Read Obituary
Hello! I just heard today About Dr. Gray. He delivered my oldest son almost 40 years ago. In fact, I believe God used your husband to save his life. I won’t go into the details but labor was long and my son was in distress. I’ve always wanted to thank him but it is now too late. Please know my husband and I had great respect for Dr. Gray. Our son is now a daddy to 6 beautiful children. He loves the Lord and his family. Anyway, I am so very sorry for your loss.
Dr. Gray was a kind, generous doctor and friend during my days in Tulsa. He will be missed. Thanks be to God for his service.
Reading the note on his memorial service program, I realized-
this is where his heart was.
Rob was a faithful and devoted Christian, husband, brother, father, grandfather, Physician and friend.
He was also modest.
As a colleague I saw him in a different arena.
After graduating with honors from OU School of medicine, he began serving his community and his church. He and others built and staffed a free Clinic that was affiliated with Eastwood baptist church, called the Great Physician Clinic. We traveled to low income housing centers in the Tulsa area weekly.
He served at church camp as a Faith Week volunteer physician for Eastwood.
He also along with other Christians built and helped staff a free clinic with First Baptist of Broken Arrow.
He had the gift of administration and leadership. He was appointed Chief Resident during training for 36 residents. Later he was Medical Director of Omni Medical Group consisting of 68 physicians, one of the largest physician groups in the state.
Then he brought his talents to Life PACE, leading and serving with the excellence, integrity and compassion that was deeply rooted in his faith.
He was a gifted physician, more than a provider, who ministered to his patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs. He showed compassion and respect for everyone.
Thank you Kathy, Nathan, Laura and Andrew for sharing him with us. He is being rewarded as a good and faithful servant.
He will be missed.
Dr. Gray was loved by all, he always took the time to really listen and care for all of his patients and co-workers with out them feeling rushed. He was a thinker often said “let’s brain storm this” and was determined to really help all of his patients. He will be greatly missed by many!
Went to Alice Robertson Junior High School, Muskogee High School Class '71, Oral Roberts University with him. He grew in stature and the favor of God every stage of his pilgrimage. Greg Webb
Dr. Gray will be missed. When more than a couple of other doctors dismissed my complaints as “normal” for a working mom of two small children, Dr. Gray took the time to listen, diagnose correctly and then successfully treat me. He was such a gift and I have never forgotten his compassion, ability to listen, genuine interest and care. I am sorry to hear he’s left us so soon but will not mourn as those who have no hope. Praying for comfort and peace for his family.

Praying for you family! Such a sweet Dr.! He delivered my two kids(now 35 and 30) and he took care of my Mom several times including her last couple of years before heaven.

We have many precious memories of being young married adults and young parents with Rob and Kathy at Eastwood. Easily could see Rob's passion for the Lord and for his family. He was truly a good man, godly man, servant of the Lord. We will be praying for Kathy and the family as you all miss his companionship and insights.
