Thompson, John Robert's Obituary
John “Bob” Robert Thompson passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78. Born on April 2, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas, Bob was the beloved son of Tommie and Iris Thompson and brother to the late Tommy Ray Thompson.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before earning his MBA from Lamar University in his hometown of Beaumont. A man of many interests, Bob loved traveling the world, collecting antiques, enjoying a well-made cocktail, and, above all, sharing laughter with those he loved. His friends often became family, and his warmth, wit, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Ashley Baquet and Blair Lemon, and their husbands Peter Baquet and Bradley Lemon. Bob was a devoted grandfather to Jude Baquet, Julien Baquet, Jasmine Lemon, Jay Lemon, Jack Lemon, and Julian Lemon. His legacy lives on in each of them.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with a reception to follow.
“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived and let me watch him do it.” His life was his lesson—and a beautiful one at that.
