We were saddened to hear of Jose's passing and pray for God's blessings for Blanca and her family. I played on Blanca's team years ago and loved playing with her. May God's peace be with Blanca at this difficult time. Love and prayers, Janet and George Megna

Jose was such an expert, very organized and able to coordinate so many tennis activities – USTA leagues, playoffs, and the Captain of many teams. His presence brought a spirit that will forever be missed. His smile, humor, selflessness, and calmness were always very evident. From my office it was nice to hear his voice upon entering the LaFortune facility. It brought a smile to my face, and helped me to push back from the grind of the day. You will greatly be missed by the tennis community. We are thankful for your life and devotion to your family and tennis family. Look forward to getting together up above.
I was just with Jose on Sunday at 1pm before the 2pm USTA meeting at Lafortune Park, and I explained that I arrived an hour early by miscommunication. He was very kind and took the time to explain the main issues they were going to cover. I'm shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. I can tell a lot about people in just a few brief minutes of conversation, and I learned quickly that he was a very kind and outstanding person. I'm so sorry for your loss.Patrick Coates
