Joseph Anton Dayer's Obituary
Joseph Anton Dayer, 87, of Owasso, OK, born on March 23, 1930, in Conway, AR, to Joseph and Philomene Dayer, the 15th of 19 children, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army, and upon his return attended watchmaking school in Elgin, IL. He met the love of his life, Dorothy Freymuth and was married in 1963. Joe worked for Sears repairing watches for over 30 years. He was devoted to his family and was a faithful servant of Christ. Joe was one of the founding members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he served as an usher, member of the Knights of Columbus, and assisted with grounds keeping for over 40 years. Joe enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. He had a kind, caring heart and was loved and adored by many. Joe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; children, Tony and wife Stephany Dayer of Broken Arrow, OK and Mary and husband Eric Crain of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Nicholas Crain, Erica Crain and Peyton Dayer; siblings, Ann Jordan of Chicago, IL, Pete Dayer of Austin, MN, Leo Dayer of Tulsa, OK, Adolph Dayer of Conway, AR, Johnny Dayer of Conway, AR and George Dayer of Sand Springs, OK; along with dozens of nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, August 7th at 5pm followed by a Rosary at 6pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at 11am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2720 South 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, OK. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the Knights of Columbus Council 9668 sponsored Center of Family Love,(see centeroffamilylove.org).
