Joseph Shannon Grayson's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Shannon Grayson, on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017, at the young age of 48. He was born November 26, 1968, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Joey and Mignon Grayson. Shannon celebrated life every day. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, and OU football but his true passion was thoroughbred horse racing. He had a special core of friends for these endeavors, and he will be sorely missed by his OU family that regularly gathered at his home on game days. He enjoyed spending time with his family in the pool, grilling outdoors and watching his daughter Makena participate in various sports. Shannon will be remembered for his unique storytelling, humor and that infectious giggle of a laugh. There was never a dull moment with Shannon and he always lightened the mood. He was a husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and best friend to so many. Shannon will be forever remembered by his wife, Kellie and his daughter, Makena; by his parents, Joey and Mignon Grayson; his sister and brother-in-law, Elise and Ted Cruchon; their children, Ava, Switzer, Cole and Sabra; his grandmother, Viola Brown and numerous aunts, cousins and extended family and close friends. Shannon was preceded in death by his grandfathers Bill “Hoot” Brown and Joe Grayson, and his grandmother, Lura Grayson. Visitation will be held Monday, April 10th from 5:00-7:00 at Floral Haven, 6500 South 129th East Avenue. A memorial service to celebrate Shannon’s life will be held at Floral Haven on Tuesday, April 11th at 10:00 am. Please share your memories of Shannon on www.FloralHaven.com
