As Humorous as she was, she loved my sense of humour. She enjoyed when I would tell her some of my funny life stories and we could really laugh about them. She was so strong and brave throughout this battle. On her last days she made sure to tell me that she loved me.

God put a beautiful person in my life 28 years ago. At the time we met I dont think too many could possibly refer to me as a catch. Thank God she did.But we became friends. And that of course, grew into best friends, lovers and soul mates. She was my rock. Our love grew and grew stronger and became the lifeline that help any marriage survive through the rough times and thrive in the good. Kathleen, over the years just got stronger and stronger and like osmosis that strength filtered into me. I believe that with all my heart. As I said, God put a beautiful loving and caring person in my life when I needed it most. And though I may have lagged a little behind at times I returned the same through the years. And I'm proud of her for the fight she put up in life. Up until cancer finally took her away from us she showed the strength of a lioness. I will forever miss you sweet and beautiful Kathleen. And to the best of my ability I will,forever,honor your wishes. Until the day I join you in that place called Heaven where I know you now reside.

Kathleen was a favorite cousin to me since her dad Don married my cousin Ellie. She was always sweet, kind and sensitive...a marvelous soul. A light has gone out in this world. My deepest sympathy goes out to her husband and kids. 💜
One of my fondest memories of working at Shadow Mountain and Parkside will always be the time I spent with Kathleen McKinney. We laughed until we cried, carried on without a care in the world, and somehow managed to make even the hardest days at work feel lighter. Kathleen had a rare gift for turning ordinary moments into joy, and working alongside her never felt like “just a job.” She truly made work fun in the purest sense of the word.
Kathleen loved her husband and children deeply, and she spoke of them with such pride and tenderness. That same love extended to all of us—her friends, coworkers, and the patients she cared for. She cherished people in a way that made everyone feel seen and valued. She was also an artist at heart, sharing her creativity by teaching patients how to paint on canvas, giving them an outlet for expression and healing. Kathleen’s laughter, kindness, and creative spirit left a lasting mark on all of us. I will never forget her.
We worked together with troubled children. After things slowed down in the evenings we could talk for hours and the time would fly by. She was a big personality, so many prayers for her loved ones and family ❣️🙏🏼
