Kathleen McKinney, beloved wife, mother and daughter was born on May 5, 1965, in Silver City, New Mexico. She passed away on January 27, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Kathleen was known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor. She had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease, and her presence could light up any room. She deeply loved the ocean and felt most at peace near the water, especially when boating. At the same time, she was endlessly drawn to the beauty of the mountains, with a special fondness for the breathtaking sights of Colorado.
A passionate movie enthusiast, Kathleen could talk for hours about films, favorite actors, and unforgettable scenes. She was also a devoted University of Oklahoma fan, proudly supporting the Sooners with unwavering enthusiasm.
Kathleen devoted many years of her life to working with troubled children, with a special dedication to children with Down syndrome, offering them patience, compassion, and unwavering support.
Kathleen lived with curiosity, joy, and a genuine love for the experiences that made life rich—nature, laughter, and shared moments. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents
She is survived by her husband Mike Hinesley, son Clayton McKinney and fiancé Beatriz, son Austin McKinney and wife Alex, sister Colleen Ruth, along with numerous friends and loved ones.
