Kenneth Eugene Reid's Obituary
Kenneth Eugene Reid, born June 30, 1931, to Samuel and Lela (Campbell) Reid, in Peno Corner, Oklahoma. Kenneth passed from this life February 25, 2015 at the age of 83. Kenneth was the 6th of six children. He attended Capital Hlll High School. After graduation, he began a career as a computer operator. He retired in April 1984, working 30 years. After retirement they were involved in traveling extensively throughout all of the United States and Canada. He lived in Arkoma, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Broken Arrow, throughout his life. He was married to Katherine Bowing on June 6, 1952. They were life long members of the Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Kenneth served in the Naval Reserves during Korean War. He loved coaching his son in baseball. Ken never met a stranger. Ken enjoyed ballroom dancing, water skiing, golfing, old time gospel and country music.Ken is survived by son Philip Reid and wife, Carolyn of Tulsa; daughter Kelly Castillo of Tulsa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friends Dick and Freida Hughes; and everyone at Arrow Height Baptist Church.Ken is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 59 years, Kathy.Visitation will be held 10:00 AM through 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Home.A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Arrow Heights Baptist Church, 3201 S Elm, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s honor to Avow Hospice, 2400 N Hemlock Circle, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
