Naomi/Memom Harding-Callahan's Obituary
Laura Naomi Harding-Callahan, a resident of Broken Arrow, OK- died Friday 7-18-25 in her home. She passed away peacefully in the presence of a lifelong friend holding her hand and her brother holding a phone to her ear allowing her to listen as her daughter told her goodbye. “Naomah” as her family called her, was a widow. She loved her Catholic faith and was a proud member of St Anne Catholic Church in Broken Arrow. She was loved by family, friends, and neighbors! Born in Cushing, OK on December 16, 1937, Naomi’s life included residence in Palm Springs, CA and Seneca, MO and then a return to Oklahoma to raise her family. She was the fifth born of ten children. In 1955 she married Joseph P Harding. Three daughters were born to the couple- Cynde, Tami and Traci. These children continued to grow the Joe & Naomi Harding legacy. They provided 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren! This marriage of 50 years ended with husband Joe’s death in 2005. In 2012, she married Melvin Callahan. Melvin passed away suddenly in 2015. Naomi is survived by daughters Cynde Spencer, Florida and Tami Davis, Texas; Sisters Alice Cram, California and June Thomazin, Missouri; and a brother Vic Nance, Arkansas; Multiple levels of Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death was daughter Traci Toole, parents Amos Ishmael Felts and Katheryn Elizabeth Felts/Everitt; sister Mae, and brothers Thomas, Jack, Wayne, Greg and Raymond. .
The following services will be held in her honor:
August 11, 2025, 10:30am. Catholic Mass and Funeral at St Anne Catholic Church for her church family to remember her. Located 301 S 9th Street, Broken Arrow, OK.
August 16, 2025, 11:00am. Naomi/Memom’s Memorial – Life Story, for Family and Friends. New Salem Baptist Church, 8040 Norway Rd, Neosho, MO.64850:
This service will be followed by a light lunch at 12:00 noon, served at New Salem Baptist church. All attendees are welcome.
Approximately 1:30, after the meal, we will go ¼ mile East to the New Salem Cemetery for Naomi’s inurnment and short comments/prayer.
