Lawrence Ray Colley's Obituary
Lawrence Ray (Corkey) Colley passed away on July 21, 2011 at the age of 81. He was born on June 10, 1930 in Richland, Oklahoma to Basil Anderson Colley and Virginia Mae Jennings Colley. He was the oldest of 4 children. On July 14, 1950 he married Elizabeth Ann Sawney in Sapulpa, OK. They had two children, Teresa Colley and Gay Colley Pearce. They were married for 44 years at the time of her death. Corkey was employed with American Airlines for 25 years and retired in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He also enjoyed the companionship of Dorothy Bruffet for the past 14 years. He is survived by two daughters: Teresa Colley of Tulsa and Gay and Tom Pearce of Claremore; 5 grandchildren: Amber and husband Victor Flores of Claremore, Valerie Pearce of Tulsa, Lara Schrader, Cassandra Pearce, and Russell Pearce all of Claremore; and 6 great grandchildren. Siblings are Marvin Colley of Tulsa, Patricia Constantino, of Drumright, Sandra Peak of Tulsa and companion, Dorothy Bruffet of Tulsa. Services will be held at Floral Haven Chapel on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 12:30pm. Friends are welcomed to join the family at a reception at Floral Haven's Family Center immediately after the service.
