Our beloved LeRoy, a man who truly never met a stranger, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. Born on December 29th, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, to parents Ernest Leroy “Danny” Griffith and Floy Ione Griffith (E Read Obituary
Leroy was a close friend in high school and after. We had great times together in his home and on adventures. After high school he drove Janet Helmick, my then girlfriend, to where I was stationed in the Air Force and back to Waterloo. He was a great help. I even met him where he worked in Waterloo as a truck dispatcher. My sincere condolences to his wife and family.
I grew up with Leroy and we were elementary school friends. I spent lots of time in his home and knew his parents and sister Vivian. We were friends in junior and senior high school. I always remember Leroy as a great dancer. As class representative for the 1959 East Waterloo High School, i would like to express condolences to Jan and the family. We wish the best as you go through this period of loss.
