Leroy Eugene Griffith's Obituary
Our beloved LeRoy, a man who truly never met a stranger, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. Born on December 29th, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, to parents Ernest Leroy “Danny” Griffith and Floy Ione Griffith (Evans), LeRoy brought joy and warmth into the lives of everyone he met.
He was the cherished husband of Jan, and together they created countless memories. In their younger days, they'd glide across the dance floor and spin around the roller rink. He enjoyed working on his 5-sided fish tank and saltwater fish tank. Cleaning these tanks took a lot of time on the weekends. He also enjoyed playing the organ. As time went on, they found happiness in the simple pleasures—enjoying yard work side by side, mowing the grass, and cozy evenings watching movies. He was rarely seen without his beloved yorkie, Kayla.
LeRoy was a devoted father to Michael Lee Griffith and welcomed Holly into the family as his dear daughter-in-law. Family was the center of his world. His sister Vivian Johnson held a special place in his heart, as did his sisters-in-law: Sharon & Del Pattison, Debbie Baughman, Andi & Kevan Bogert, Kate Milligan, Sara & Matthew Cregar, Donna Smithhart, and Jean McAntire.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest Leroy "Danny" Griffith and Floy Ione Griffith (Evans), his sisters; Frances Chase, Beatrice Murphy, Beverly Gabbard, Barbara Kral, and Shirley Cuvelier, his mother-in-law; Nancy Jane (Hagan) Helmick Wilcox, his sisters-in-law; Charlene Clow, and Patricia Christy, and brothers-in-law; David Helmick, Mike McAntire, Les Smithhart, Mike Baughman, and Fred Clow. We take comfort knowing they are reunited once again.
Known for his kind, compassionate, hardworking, and generous spirit, LeRoy found joy in the great outdoors. He loved embracing nature's beauty. At Brookdale, he made friends effortlessly, especially enjoying conversations with everyone he met. His genuine friendliness left a lasting impact on all of us.
LeRoy and Jan attended St. Anne's Catholic Church in Broken Arrow, OK, where they found community and peace.
We will forever cherish our memories of LeRoy—his welcoming smile, his hearty laugh, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy of love and kindness lives on in all of us.
