Louis Avis Williams Jr.'s Obituary
In Loving Memory
Louis Avis "Butch" Williams Jr.
March 24, 1943 - June 23, 2025
Louis Avis "Butch" Williams, 82, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2025. Born on March 24, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Louis lived a life rooted in service, hard work, and deep love for his family and community.
Louis proudly served in the Texas National Guard before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served his country from 1960 to 1968. Following his military service, he pursued a career in management, holding positions with Dover Corporation, RDS, and Independent Living Senior Apartments. His strong work ethic and practical skills were matched only by his willingness to help others and fix anything that needed repair.
A man of many talents, Louis found joy in woodworking, auto mechanics, remodeling, and gardening. He never let anything go unfixed. He also had a sharp competitive streak when it came to playing dominos and a deep appreciation for military and western films. Louis was an active member of the Broken Arrow Seniors and a faithful member of Sequoyah Creek Church, where he found both community and purpose.
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Vicki, of the home; his brother, Steve Williams and wife Sarah of Danville, Kentucky; and his four sons: Brian Williams and wife Audrey of Broken Arrow, Danny Williams and wife Susie of Tulsa, Wade Williams and wife Kathy of Bartlesville, and Louis III ("Tracey") Williams and partner Jacque Hopkins of Tulsa. He was a proud grandfather to Derek, Chase, Mickey, Emma, Conner, Devon, Meagan, Patrica, Donald, Kennedy, Connie, Patrick, and Jonathon. His legacy also lives on through numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Pearl Dimple of Wichita Falls, Texas; his siblings, Dormia Gene, June, Lois, and Dee Dee; and his beloved daughter, Jacqetta Jean.
Louis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Service details to celebrate his life will be announced by the family at a later date.
