Well mom, "and the last shall be first.." How I miss you! Words really can't express how very sad it all is. Even though dementia took you from us years ago, your physical presence was always there to remind us of the good times. Even through the lean times growing up, you kept your sense of humor and showed all of us how much you loved us. You were so proud of all of us – but truly you were the successful one. You encouraged all of us and live in each of us when we laugh, when we are gentle and when we forgive. I'll never forget the letter you wrote me when I went to college. You encouraged me to be "better", to "reach for the stars" and reminded me to "stop and smell the roses" once in a while. Mom, I Love You and when I stop to smell the roses I'll think of you.
