Louise A. Madison's Obituary
Madison- Louise Angeline (nee: Aten), age 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. She was born in D’Hanis, Medina County, Texas on October 16, 1928 to Katherine Saathoff and Ivan F. Aten. In 1946, she married Dixon F. Madison in Guadalupe County, Texas and began her life as the wife of a career military man. Together, they raised seven children while moving throughout the nation and abroad in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Germany, Washington, Arizona, California and Nevada. Louise worked in a variety of fields for several different companies and the U.S. government. A few of those include: Mather AFB (CA), Rockwell Corp. (OK), SW Bell Telephone (OK), Ft. Huachuca (AZ), Army Depot (Germany), Marina Casino (NV) and at the Tulsa International Airport (OK). She was also a member of the Naomi Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Chapter of Oklahoma. Louise, known for her good natured spirit, gentle manner and easy sense of humor was very much loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband after 61 years of marriage, her parents, her sister Gertrude Steele, and her brother F. E. Aten. Louise is survived and will be greatly missed by her children: Marlene Lawson (Gordon) of Okmulgee, OK, Melinda Lambert (Dick) of Carmichael, CA, Suzanne Barr of Woodbridge, VA, Mark Madison (Cindi) of Tucson, AZ, Tena Alexander of Tulsa, OK, Julie Boland (Marty) of Herndon, VA, and Lisa Kuhlman (Steven) of Collegedale, TN. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Viewing will be at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow on Thursday, August 26, 2010, 12:00 – 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, 10:00 AM, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Alzheimer Association or to the Lucky Dawg Rescue.
