Mabel Leona Lemmon's Obituary
Mabel Leona (McDaniel) Lemmon, 98 years old, passed away at St. John Medical Center early Wednesday, December 15, 2010, of sudden illness. Lemmon of Billings on January 31, 1931. Widowed in 1937, with two young children, she never remarried. Moving to Tulsa, she made a career as Dental Assistant working for Dr. Richard Oliver in Brookside until her retirement. Mrs. Lemmon loved working outside in her flowerbeds and garden, and feeding the many birds that frequented her bird bath and yard. She also loved going on daily walks, frequenting the path along the river until health issues prevented her from going long distances. She finally learned to drive in her 60's but gave it up after a couple of years saying it was too much trouble. She enjoyed board games and reading until her eyesight began to fail. Her family described her as being very independent, hard-working and having a substantial sweet tooth, especially for cookies and ice cream. She was preceded in passing by her children: Coralee (Lemmon) Smith (2002) and Max D. Lemmon (1979). Strong in her faith, she had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Tulsa, since Jan 2, 1966. She will be dearly missed by: Grandchildren: Elisa Hansen, Renton, WA Steven G.
