I'm so sorry this happened to you Marcus....I've known you since you and all the kids in the neighborhood were young and in grade school...The last time I saw you was in 2020 when you surprisingly came into the salon that I worked at and gave me a big hug...I don't know how long it had been before that...Praying for you and your family..May you rest in peace...Gone to young 😢
Oh Marcus, this just can't be, over the years of watching you and my son grow you were a constant fixture in our home for many yrs you were family to us, and this just sucks man it's not suppost to be like this my heart is hurting for your family, may they find some comfort in knowing just how much you loved them. Wow I really dont believe this.. me and Marcus have been through so much together growing up and have always been friends no matter what my father Brandon loved marcus and didn't get to say bye to him when he died from cancer marcus stayed in the car because he couldn't stand seeing him go.. and now im hearing about you going to. man you were a day one no matter what. At the end of the day I love ya dawg and wished we all had just made better decisions... no bad decision is worth anyone's life. To his mom I know we got into alot of stupid stuff when we was younger and I remember you having to get us from jail a few times and being furious anyways Im sorry for that I hope you keep your head up and if there's anything you might need please dont be afraid to ask ..

Marcus, we weren’t extremely close, but we’ve had a lot of very deep conversations, and you always checked up on me! It hurts my heart to know that we can no longer have our deep conversation/therapy sessions in your car! My prayers and my condolences go out to your family and your loved ones during this tragically difficult time! Just know you are loved and you will be very missed! I know you’re in a better place now, it just hurts because you were taken from us too soon!

Marcus was a huge bright light. My best memories were from 8th grade at Sequoyah Middle school. I was the new kid and I was told Marcus didn't like that I was talking to some girl he liked. We were going to fight like 2 boys trying to be cool. After meeting, we both realized how stupid it was and became really really good friends. He helped me develop confidence in myself at a time when I felt very alone. He was mature beyond his years and even 15 years later, I remember the joy he brought to everyone who encountered. His energy will never be forgotten.
I was lucky to have been with Eva, and his grandmother Shely, when he was born. After he was bundled up, he became calm, serene, and aware of our voices. It's hard to believe the cocoon that held a tiny baby became the young man who was so beautiful. His family and friends will miss him and I hope their sadness will soon be good and happy memories.
