Marjorie Scruggs' Obituary
Marjorie (Margie) Elizabeth Scruggs, 75, went home to be with Jesus on May 10, 2025, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Margie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joe Scruggs; her son, Todd Scruggs, and his wife, Beth; her granddaughter, Maggie Scruggs, and her grandson, Andrew Scruggs; her brother, Grandison Royston; and her nephew, Guy Royston. Margie will join her son, Wade Wright Scruggs, and her parents, Grandison and Imogene Royston, in heaven.
Margie was born in Hope, Arkansas, on October 21, 1949. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and moved to Little Rock, where she married Joe in 1972. After a stop in Kansas City, they moved to Tulsa in 1979, and have lived in the same house, in Jenks, Oklahoma, for 45 years.
Margie’s towering faith, kind and loving nature, wisdom, and caring smile will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Her love for Jesus shone through everything she did and inspired anyone she spent time with. Her focus was always on Him.
Margie’s family is deeply appreciative of everyone’s presence here today, along with all the prayers, messages, and help received over the past months. Our hope is to honor what she honored: our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Memorials can be made to Young Life or to the Redeemer Church mission budget.
