My deepest sympathy to you all. May God Bless you all and give you peace and comfort.
An unexpected side effect of having Mark Exendine as a father is growing up thinking every thing will work out. When I bought my first house, we were sweeping leaves off the roof and realized there was a hole. It was supposed to rain that night so my husband did a quick fix using paper towels, plastic bags, and duct tape. When we got home from work the next day, the hoke hand been properly fixed. Dad had snuck over when no one was home and, without telling anyone or asking for a thank you, patched the hole in my roof. That's just one of many examples. I'm so sad to know that I will never again come home to find my problems already fixed.
Hi Penny, this is Donnie Crockett. I’m so sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. I have thought about him hundreds of times through the years, and have also thought about all of the fun times from our younger years. I always considered him a dear friend. I’m sure you and your family are deviated. Please know that I will be praying for you all. Praying for peace, understanding, and strength to move forward. May God bless and keep you!
Sorry for your loss.I have great memories of Mark ,very out going child. Sincerely, Stanley Baker
About 1987 Mark, Ashley and me went to Bartesville to pick up a 1959 Chevy station wagon he'd bought the day before. It had sat in an old woman's garage for 30 years or so but we got it running and headed for Prattville. Mark drove the wagon and Ashley and me followed in his Toyota. As we rounded downtown Tulsa some little something fell out from under the old wagon. It wasn't real big but it was REAL hot. It trailed smoke as it bounced along the highway. Ashley looked at me kinda worried and I pretended not to notice.
Right after Mark turned off highway 97 into his neighborhood the left rear tire burst into flame. Ashley's eyes were like pie plates! There was a stop sign ahead and I pulled up on his left and yelled - "HEY MAN, YOU'RE ON FIRE! DON'T STOP!"
We raced to Mark's house and got the garden hose out just in time to put the tire fire out when he pulled up. Ashley kept her cool but I'll never forget that look on her face!
