I'm taking this final chance to say "hello & see ya later in Heaven Mark" and to offer my heartfelt condolences to Mark's special lady Debbie, all his kids and to his family near & far. I went thru Whitney JH & Hale with Mark, he was truly one of a kind! It was easy to enjoy that beautiful smile and witty personality of Mark's, no matter if we were just good friends or not. Wow, I can't believe you are gone just that quick. I had barely talked to you just days before you went to Heaven. Was getting ready to send those pics and things when I found out. I had not seen you in many years but we were tied together when we were young kids. Now my dad, Russ, your mom, Mona, my bro, Randy and you are gone. Tell them all howdy and I'll see you all someday. Gosh ,I just did find out about the passing of my friend Mark. I received the news from a mutual friend. Mark and I have been friends since 2005, when he got clean. We met in the rooms.Though we attended different fellowships,we shared a common bond.We also lived in the same community, which allowed us to occaisionally stop and visit.I was always genuinely glad to see Mark. Many times in the morning, Mark would stop by after taking his beloved to work,we would laugh and appreciate each other. On many other occaisions we would try to be the first to give the other a one finger salute, no matter where we were. Though we usually were in traffic.I respected Mark. I loved Mark. He will always be my friend…
My Dearest friend Mark, This is not a 'good-bye' but more of a "see you when I'm called home". You are so very special to me. Through all the years, good times and bad you were a constant that I could count on for whatever or whenever. I'll miss the way you'd cross your eyes when I'd bore you with one of my long, detailed stories. I'll miss you reminding me that you've been told more than once that you look just like Kevin Costner. Brother Mark , I don't know if you realized how much you inspired me in my recovery but you did ……I'm gonna miss your infectious smile and laugh and I'll never forget the memories beginning with the early Saturday morning rides we used to take when you had your old shovel…….how I used to rag on you to "get that old heap fixed" while I wiped the oil from my face and smeared it around on my lenses…….you said "well if you'd just stay in front of me you wouldn't have to worry about it now would ya" and you laughed with me …….man I'm glad the last words to you last week were "I love you brother" cause so many times I've wished I could go back and say what I should have said and the only thing I forgot to add is that I'm gonna miss you my friend …..very much ……….you left too soon …….ride easy my friend and bless your family
I meet Mark for the first time at the NA meeting "Surviors in Recovery" which was my home group at the time. I remember his Brown Harley and his quiet way of observing and listening. I was grateful to have celeibrated 5 years clean with him. As with others in the program we had developed a wonderful relationship. I would tease him all the time about what step he was on or if he had gotten a sponsor yet, and we would laugh about it.Unfortuatly I had taken a vacation for a few years, during that vacation Mark kept in contact with me and always seemed to be there when I reached out for a ride to a meeting.(or griped at me when I would walk to a meeting instead of calling for a ride, but always gave me a ride home.) I have watched Mark grow over the four – five years of knowing him. I couldn't have asked for a better friend/brother than Mark. Thank you to all of his family for giving us such a bless person to touch our lives.I have and always will miss him deeply. Love Diane
I didn't know Mark as well as others did, but at least I knew him. He is a very loving and caring person. I am glad that he had someone as sweet as Debbie in his life. Mark will truly be missed. Love you Debbie, and my thoughts and prayers are with you always.
