Martha Ann Scott's Obituary
Martha Ann “Marty” Scott A beautiful soul left this earth September 19, 2012, with the passing of Marty Scott. Born August 17, 1948 in Dallas, Texas, she passed peacefully at her home in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Marty was outgoing and fun loving with a talent for making people feel welcome and comfortable; family and friends, and especially those she just met; she was truly interested in them. She touched so many lives and had a beautiful smile that could brighten any room. Marty had a long and successful career in Information Services. While employed by the City of Tulsa, she earned her Associate’s degree in Information Technology attending night classes. She had an extraordinary gift for home decorating; often seeing her ideas showcased in local and national publications long after shefinishedher own home. Marty was a huge Willie Nelson fan; traveling with husband or friends to attend concerts; she befriended the entire band and was on a first name basis with them. Among her many interests were home landscaping, flower gardening, and horsemanship. She took English riding lessons at Lawrence Farms in Bixby Oklahoma, where she purchased her one any only horse, Caper. She successfully showed Caper in the hunter/jumper class for a few years; winning several ribbons. When Marty and Darel purchased their acreage in Catoosa, she was able to have Caper at home. Marty loved having Caper at home. She rode him as often as she could'. I just want you to know that Judy and I have you in our hearts and prayers. Marty left her mark on anyone who came into contact with her because she had the unique ability to make everyone feel special. Every time you would visit with her it was like there was no one else around and she was just visiting with you! This sincere interest in others was a special quality of hers that I will never forget. We will miss her always-ready smile and her obvious love of family. Just know that, not only was Marty a blessing to you, she was a blessing to all of us that had the privilege to know her. Thank you for sharing her. She is survived by her husband Darel Scott, whom she married on June 27, 1992; two daughters Kristina Hembree of Garden City, Kansas and Lyndee Scott of Great Bend, Kansas; her mother Betty Carroll, sisters Peggy Choka and Jackie Carroll, brother Mike Carroll, nieces , all of Fort Wayne; and nephews and five grandchildren.
