Marty Thorpe's Obituary
Marty Thorpe, a resident of Tulsa, passed away March 10, 2017 at the age of 85. She was born September 28, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Howard Edward Barr and Nellie Lee (Higgins) Barr. On June 6, 1948, she married Arthur Louis Thorpe in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Marty enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and entertaining but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Edward and Nellie Lee Barr and sister, Norma Jeanne Barbee.Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Arthur L. Thorpe; three children, Steve Thorpe and wife, Sylvia of Tulsa, Sandy Johnson and husband, Tim of Harper, KS and Mary Ann Hauglid and husband, Don of Bixby; five grandchildren, Jeff Owen and wife, Cyndi, Aric Thorpe and wife, Anita, Amy Kistler, Steve Owen and Jennifer Luong; great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Cole Owen, Arthur and Nellie Thorpe, Selora Collins, Lily Hopkins, Abi Simmons, Scott, Travis and Madison Owen, Sarah Ruiz, Gage, Gavin and Kade Labranche; nieces, Susan and Chelsey Smith; nephew, David Lamb and other relatives and friends.Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Aric Thorpe officiating.Pallbearers will be Aric Thorpe, Jeff Owen, Cole Owen, Don Hauglid, Art Thorpe and Steve Thorpe.
