Lit a candle in memory of Marvin Lee McCormick
From Mark, In the obit I failed to note Marvin's brother and the life long bond he shared with Jack McCormick who lives in the Phoenix, Az area. It was an error on my part, fully my responsibility and I apologize to Jack and his family and also the extended McCormick family who are loved and appreciated by all of Marvin's family in Oklahoma.
Must have been an opening for a Chief Dispatcher in Heaven! Rest in Peace, my friend.
Some of my best and earliest memories are of the holidays at Marvin and Darline's house. I'll always remember the sounds of those great times together. I'll always remember too how everything got quiet when the Cowboys were playing. Marvin loved football and especially the Cowboys.Marvin is one of the men in my life that has been an example of how to love your family and friends deeply. He made everyone feel special and loved. He always wanted to know how things were going and he asked questions that showed his sincerity. He loved my mom and dad (his in laws) like his own folks and in my mom's later years, he cared for her like she was his own mother. They don't make men like Marvin anymore!
So sorry to hear about Marvin's passing. He was such a mentor to the young boys playing baseball. I know he and Delmar will be sharing baseball stories in heaven, God bless the family, Norma Hutchison
How can I start a memory? You have always been in my life and now you are gone. I charish our relationship and will never forget all that you mean to me. Allison
The best coach and mentor a child growing up could have. I enjoyed all the great times growing up and spending the night with Mark as kids it seems that was always so fun. It all seems like just yesterday. Wishing Darlene, Mark and family my sincere condolences. RIP Mr. McCormick and thank you.
If I could have hand picked a husband for my sister, a father for my niece and nephews, and a brother in law, I could not have done better than Marvin. He was one of the most caring and loving individuals you'd ever want to meet.Marvin fought the cancer in his body for 13 years and could have given up at any point along the way, but it was important to him that he got everything he could out of his time on earth. He was able to watch his children, many grand children and great grand children grow and love him the way we all did.I loved Marvin and will surely miss him, but I know he is in a better place and is no longer suffering. Thanks for letting me share a small part of your life Marvin.John Bergman
Best dang boss I ever had…RIP Marvin.
